Episode 19: Working Through College as a Pre-Med Student
In this episode Joseph chats with fellow first gen Jessica, who has been working through a work study job on top of an additional clinical job to both get experience in the field of medicine to prepare her for applying to med school and to help her fund her educational expenses so she doesn’t have to ask her parents for money.
In this episode you will hear from:
College student Jessica who has made sure to look for opportunities wherever she can to help her get experience in the field of medicine while also providing for money to help pay for educational expenses. Having multiple jobs in a field she is interested in pursuing has helped her with her time management, gain experience, and prepare for the next steps along her journey to med school.
Jessica’s story is a great example of the constant hustle of a First Gen. She kept on the lookout for opportunities to create her own luck, which is super important for us all to do. She also remembers to work smart and find things that help her in multiple ways.
