Episode 45: Financial Wellness Tips for First Gens
In this episode, Dan interviews three first gens about their financial wellness and personal finance journeys.
First, we have John, who is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania. John shares his story of how he first started learning about personal finance in high school and how that became a passion of his through college. He shares some tips for college students and an up-and-coming resource for first gens: Common Cents, which is at over eight universities.
Next up we have Kimani, a recent grad & Questbridge Match Scholar from Northwestern University. As she begins her first full-time salary job, she shares her story about shifting her money mindset and how saving is a privilege. Kimani’s story is full of wisdom and insight for anyone navigating their first job after college.
We also have a special guest to close us out, Dagmara Wozniak, who is a 2x Olympian Fencer. Sharing her perspective as a more seasoned first gen, she shares her story and some lessons learned about credit, and the importance of using financial management tools. Daga is also an ambassador for Nav.it, a personal finance app for savers!
