Episode 108: A Chat About Remote Work

Hear from first-generation college graduate, former college athlete, and current Process Engineer, Ryan Angelo. Ryan shares his journey of studying physics at Kenyon College and the benefits his interdisciplinary education has had on his career development. While some employment opportunities are fully remote, without an in-person option, this episode centers around working remotely for a company that does have an in-person option. Ryan shares his experience of transitioning from in-person work to remote work, and how working from home impacts his professional development and colleague relationships.

When asked what advice he would give to recent college graduates who are working remotely, Ryan stated, “The piece of advice would be to always ask questions…”

Ryan obtained a full-time job as a Process Engineer upon graduating from Kenyon College in 2017. In 2021, he then received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Currently, working from home, Ryan is a Process Engineer for Wood Group USA.
